education

I share my passion for education via several offerings. The first is through curriculum development and creative direction for educational institutions and community organizations. Combining my experience as a science teacher, school administrator, and marketing executive, I craft multifaceted campaigns to increase student and stakeholder engagement. My unique experience has led to collaborations with diverse organizations such as the Black Image Center, the Ida B. Wells Just Data Lab at Princeton University, St. Elmo Village, and Building College Success.

As an arts educator and image maker, I also share my passion for analog filmmaking in eco-processing workshops. In these workshops, I teach participants to create a non-toxic film developer made from coffee to process super 8, 35mm, and 120 film. These workshops are a mediation on rethinking the toxic nature of darkroom chemistry, as well as the toxic history of the photography and filmmaking industries.

In addition, I teach cyanotype printmaking workshops, conduct presentations about the Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony, and screen my short films in community spaces and educational institutions. I believe through small acts of experimentation, we can imagine new possibilities for nourishing, sustainable ways of being with one another and our environment.
